The 20th Law

I woke up this morning thinking of #HexavianLaw20. Who knows what it is?

Well..

I texted my friend yesterday saying it was well. She might not have understood why I said that. A few nights ago, we had a challenge and our car broke down. I was upset. I hate being entangled with mechanics. I’ve always wanted to change my car, but I can’t till next year. There’s too much burden on me, and sadly, they are necessarily not mine. I’ll keep the burdens to myself because I’m glad I can help, even though I myself needs help.
But here’s my point..
Whatever you are going through shouldn’t stop you from helping others when you know you can.
Let me share a true story that happened to me in 2004.

I’m inspired to write this, after rising above my own challenges last weekend, to volunteer at Chaz B’s charity project in Ajegunle, it hit me, true story from 2004.

I was in a new town, in Owerri to seek an admission that was unsure. That journey became a private hell. But this hell was damn cold as I shivered in the blistering nights during that rainy season. I remember vividly well how stranded without money I was. I was lucky not to have caught pneumonia from sleeping outside for days in the bus park.
I was upset and I decided to forfeit the journey and return back to Lagos. But then, I accidentally met this  man who helped me. I later realized that he knew my dad. He told me stories that inspired me. He said my dad shared his one room apartment with with him and others, he even helped him to school in India a few decades ago. The night he was to travel to India, he opened up his wardrobe and his savings, saying he’d need it more where he’s going to. I feel like my dad’s gestures is some of what I’m reaping.
And by the way, that man was the lecturer that gave me the University admission I was looking for!

What if my dad hadn’t helped?

Every time we solve a problem, we create value and that is the SI unit for greater things to you.

LAW 20 of 21 Laws of business is perhaps most powerful of all the HexavianLaws.

G I V E ! ! !

Whether life or business, you can get anything you want from anyone, simply by GIVING them first what they need. Giving in a deeper realm like ancient burnt offerings appeases the spiritual. Giving invokes the forces of the universe to act to your favour. Plus, a candle loses nothing, not even its light from lighting another candle. And he that lights a path can never walk in darkness.

In your business, create an arm of it, that is non profit. It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. “The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.” It’s a secret recipe to success. It’s not how much you can take, but how much you can give. And when it feels like there’s nothing you have to give, give your best (excellence).

Giving is like a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself!
