I know its awkward, but baby do you watch Telemundo?
Well, when I go to a lady’s house I ask her what she watches the most, then I look out for her book shelf. And this one was a “big girl” in Lekki. Smelling nice on Paco Robanne, had a whole wardrobe full of Louboutins shoes, Ray Ban sun glasses,Tom Ford and YyesSaintLaurent perfumes, Prada shoes with matching Louis Vuitton bags but she had not even a book. Now, I’m having a problem taking her serious.
There are 3Cs that must be checked before going into a relationship (Chemistry, Core Values and Conflict resolutions pattern). So after Chemistry comes Core Value.
So I had chemistry with her. And then I remember her coming over one day to the house. She took off her shoes, we had that vibe, we decided to lay on the bare floor instead. But her lips couldn’t stop moving, I survived the shallow conversations from such a pretty face, thanks to a cold tall bottle of chardonnay we shared alongside Adele from the speakers. But she just kept talking without content. And then, noticing she had lost me to my phone, she got up and began to look around the house and then subliminally screamed, “ah ah”, you don’t have a TV. I won’t come again, as a matter of fact, I am leaving”, she said. She was expecting me to say “why”, but I said “when?”
Someone once said to me, “When a girl leaves a man with VISION for the type she sees on Telemundo TELEVISION. Soon she’ll be watching that ex with VISION in her broke “Telemundo husband’s” TELEVISION”…lol
In my line of work, I’ve met very intelligent women too, so this isn’t sexist. But our daughters needs to know and read more. Sadly, I’ve met ladies who don’t and won’t read, even if you put 7 N1500 MTN recharge card numbers in between each paragraph of a book.
Lol..
My dear,
Readers are Leaders.
The Pastor Mathew Oshimolowo of the church, KICC, said he was feeling arrived flying first class, and was going to fall asleep in it. But then he looked to his left, and he saw the man we today know as Dangote, awake, reading!
Lol.
Oyedepo during his early days would travel and return almost empty handed to his wife, except with a bag full of books!
..Look at all of them now, successful!
Leave grace to God, by habits, success is predictable.
African’s don’t read, (well, except for bible, Linda Ikeji and Rhapsody of Realities…lol)
You are what you value.
Everytime I fly Aero, and as usual there is a delayed flight (oops), I look around the airport lobby and I notice how most Nigerians ping, listen to music, chat and sleep. And the white man always reads.
Success isn’t hard, it’s just hidden.
And you know the saying, “if you want to hide something from a black man, put it in a book!”
To make it easier, these days, it’s put in trainings!

This is brilliant. Its not just about ladies too though, so many people just do NOT read, and those that think they do, do NOT read nearly enough. We all claim busy schedules but we find time to see that new movie and that exotic party. Thanks for the wake up call Eizu!
Well said and most guys buy only complete sports and argue abt d earnings of sport persons
Wonderful Read! Most guys simply choose their life partners based on physical appearances. They are in for a world of hurt when they need some brain simulation and their significant other would rather watch telemundo
Gbam! Success is not hard it is just hidden. When we don’t take personal responsibility of looking for the hidden treasures of success we blame external forces.
Thought provoking write – up. I’m inspired keep it up.
Mr Eizu , u didnot answer the question your article put forward?
Incase your asking me what your question is, well go back to your topic. So let me ask again WHEN WILL YOU MARRIAGE?. waiting.
Nice write up, but come how do I turn all this book to money, cos am juSt coming from my villa and saw all the books I have been reading n storing but couldn’t carry them cos of the load, minus the law books that I must read ooo, but I never hammer
lol… soon! *smiles and *winks
It’s really difficult to ‘flow’ with someone who cannot stimulate me mentally…
Mr. Eizu, I feel your pain. Really.
Amazing write up. But I’ve come to discover that only 2 in every 10 Nigerian men these days are interested in the amount of books you read, or how sound you are mentally. Most of them deceive themselves that they want the brilliant girls, but would almost alwAYS go for “the chick who carries a Fendi bag with an attitude”. Speaking from experience. But you have made a truck load of sense Eizu. #wakeupcall#
A nice one from Eizu Hexevia!
If only we will begin to invest more on our brains, our problems will be truly solved by half. Indeed success isn’t hard, it’s just hidden!
A wonderful piece your shared once again Eizu. There is no need rushing into marriage when you can’t find someone that complements your ideas and efforts. Ladies really need to step up their cos this is not the era of shallow mindedness. On reading, we shouldn’t just read for reading sake, people need to understand that the purpose of reading is learning and improvement. So therefore each time we read, we should ask ourselves these question: what new thing have I learnt from this? How can I put it to action? and so on…. Trust me, if we put inspirational words into action following the required principles, the sky will be our starting point. Long live #Hexavia
