The best of mankind are those who live for others in chasing their dreams. We only die once but we live forever. We can all impact people, either horizontally ( that is by reaching more people) or vertically ( not many; one on one but deeply). .

You see my dear, everyone in life has 2 sets of people predefined by life forces to be on our life’s path; those assigned to us and those attached to us. Those assigned to you are your helpers ( mentors, heroes, HNI’s we can either learn from or leverage upon), and almost equally, those designed and attached to us ( we are to help raise up, either as mentees, kids even if they are not biologically ours, interns, staff, wards, pet projects, group of less fortunates ). Every time we either horizontally or vertically increase our impact in the lives of those attached to us, more of those assigned to us shows up. Our failure in life comes from neglecting to identify and do the needful with the two types.

The reason why you don’t know my grandfather is probably because he lived for a few compared to maybe Mandela. But no matter how horizontally or vertically few, let the impact be sincerely felt.

Move from “God Please Bless Me” to “The World Will Be Blessed Through Me” and you’re on a path to quantum leap and greatness.
