Why Creating Experiences is Necessary for Your Business

Every single day, Hilda would always walk into this store to buy groceries. One day, while in a bus on her way back home (just a stone throw away from the shop), a fellow passenger – a young man wearing a grey jean jacket, in a smooth mid-tone voice, asked as they drove pass the store, “what does that store remind you of?” In awe at how sudden the question came (Who begins a conversation like this anyway), with a smug look on her face, she said softly “Nothing”.

Don’t you think it’s time to go a little further and actually create a relationship for that young deserving beautiful next-door looking lady you call your customer? I mean, she spends her money on you (your product) and she doesn’t even know you. Now don’t tell me you don’t know what I’m talking about.

I’m talking about experience! Give her something more than just your product. Give her memories she will cherish for life. Life is too virtual already, the best thing you can do as a business is to reach for the heart of your customer. That can only be done through experiential design/marketing. The only thing more important than the product you sell is what your customers believe they’re buying.

Experiential design/marketing is creating an environment where a customer can interact with your product or brand with the aim of creating relationship and brand loyalty.

In coming articles I will describe in detail, features of experiential design and marketing and how you use them to promote your business. It’s all about the experience.

A beautiful write-up. Now I understand as an entrepreneur, am not just selling my brand. Each sales I make actually represents an experience shared with a customer. Even when I do not make a sale; an encounter with a customer leaves a remarkable impact on the customer, be it good or bad.
